The Rosemary Society is a circle of kindred spirits whose membership helps sustain and nurture the Netherwoods Sanctuary and Temple of Dance & Sacred Arts.

Through your membership, you directly contribute to the ongoing care, stewardship, and development of the Netherwoods temple and sacred grounds, while helping our shared vision of cultivating more Love, Light, Beauty, Joy, and Wonder through Dance, Magick, Ceremony, and Community continue to blossom.

Your membership helps care for this living sanctuary and supports the continued growth of the Dance, Magick, and Community we are creating here.

Memberships also help make sliding-scale dance classes possible for members of our community, helping to keep the joy, nourishment, connection, and transformative magic of dance accessible to more people.

Why Rosemary?

Rosemary is a magickal herb of remembrance, protection, purification, loyalty, wisdom, and love. Its vibrant growth and evergreen nature have long connected it with vitality, strength, and the enduring presence of the Divine Feminine.

Its Latin name, ros (dew) and marinus (of the sea), evokes the Element of Water and its mysteries of emotion, intuition, feeling, dreaming, and the Moon. Rosemary also carries associations with ancient priestess traditions with both Mary Magdalene and Mother Mary, connecting it to feminine wisdom, sacred devotion, and the deep mysteries of the heart.

Magickally, rosemary has traditionally been used for purification and protection, as well as for strengthening memory, focus, and remembrance. It has also been associated with dreams and lucid dreaming, and for centuries has served as a symbol and charm of faith, fidelity, remembrance, and enduring love—appearing in ceremonies of both union and remembrance.

For us, Rosemary beautifully embodies the spirit of this Society: rooted, resilient, protective, loving, remembering, and ever-growing.
